67-year-old Kingwood Woman Loses Home For Not Paying HOA Dues
"I saw my mom go outside," Ann's son Anthony Izzat said. "The next thing I know she came back in and told me we had 30 minutes to get al of our stuff, all thirty two years, and get it out, I went outside and asked for a card, they sat out here and actually laughed and said trust us."

RumRunner writes: Certain neighbors of the land formerly known as a "golf course" treat it like their personal yard waste facility. They have their yard man haul debris across the street and stash it among the trees behind our house. Can or should anything be done about this? Just wondering.... Your chance to do anything about it came and went when the ACIA turned down the opportunity to buy the property. Looks like the golf course may become the new Continental Plaza. |
Unfinished zombie housing developments haunt the rural West
It was the lack of any local planning and foresight that caused Teton County to succumb to the boom-bust cycle of development. Hopefully, Teton County, ID can learn from the past and now create a vision and adopt policies that have development pay for itself, while protecting the qualities that make the area special.

Continental Plaza Atascocita, Texas
Lanco-Continental Plaza originated between FM 1960 and Atascocita road in 1982. It was split into hundreds of separate blocks (typically 50 X 100 feet) which were sold to individual buyers with the promise of mixed use development. Several streets were paved with most being named after major waterways, such as Barents and Aegean Seas and Indian Ocean.
Small but growing group of vacation rental owners with non-disparagement clauses
Disparagement clauses have been utilized numerous times by declarants and HOA boards. There is a pretty interesting one that KB Homes used a few years ago in the Houston area.
